butoh guides

Workshops go on from 8 am till 5 pm with a 1 hour lunch break in-beween. Each workshop approximately 2 hours in length.

Alyssa Warncke (Thailand)

Alyssa Marie Warncke is a butoh-influenced artist born and raised in Bangkok. She has worked professionally as a singer/voice coach, a pianist/composer, musician/actress, performance artist, dancer and workshop leader in the experimental art, theatre and performance scene in Hamburg.


Anna Nela Styra (Germany)

Anna is a Himalaya Subbody alumni from Leipzig. Guides groups in somatics and performs self-created Butoh pieces in India and Germany. Since last year (2018) in apprenticeship for somatic work/ dance therapy.

Cilla Vee (USA)

Claire Elizabeth Barratt (aka Cilla Vee) is an inter-disciplinary artist with a performing arts background. She will give a workshop on her "Living Art" pedagogy.


Coco Villarreal (Mexico)

Coco is an international Butoh performer and director of Teatro Prieto Compañía Internacional.

Honza Svasek (Netherlands)

Honza is the mastermind behind Free Butoh and has a regular Butoh camp in Tumkur, India (south India).


Julie Becton Gillum (USA)

Julie Becton Gillum is an international butoh performer and butoh festival organizer based in North Carolina.


Luciana Sayanes (Argentina)

Luciana is the founder and Director of Benzaiten Collective, Hachinosu Music Project and Nyx Butoh, groups dedicated to artistic experimentation, creation and dissemination of the Arts in the world.


Maureen Momo Freehill (USA)

Momo is the director at Butopia and is an international Butoh performer.

Sonja Indianna Salkowitsch (Norway)

Sonja Indianna is a Norwegian performer, working with a mix of physical theatre and butoh. She runs her own project Pluskvamperfektum, investigating different ways to enter the abstract narrative and to materialize the stories that happen between the realities.


Tebby W.T. Ramasike (South Africa)

Tebby RAMASIKE, is a South African choreographer, dancer, dance teacher & researcher and cultural activist. He arrived in Europe in 1995 after working with different theatre and dance companies in South Africa and abroad.
